Plastic Stained Glass
Stained glass was made popular from Churches as early as12th century in Europe. Many churches had very little light during the day. Before colored glass, artists painted the glass. The invention of colored and painted glass allowed light and warmth to come in. Traditionally glass was held together with lead. Today modern method use copper foil, making it lighter and safer. In Exploratory art, students used clear plastic sheets in place of glass for safety issues. |
